I was at a Christmas party held by our truck repair agent in Didcot, about 1987, local working mens club, Vic arrives and asks the barman how many bottles of champagne he has ’12’ says the barman, ‘good’ says Vic, ‘I’ll take them all’!. I had a hangover the next day.

I find his videos to be a bit of fab fitted around a pop video. Slow-mo sparks from an angle grinder because that looks cool. Maybe.
I guess in this day and age you have to entertain first. Pausing the first video and looking at some of the weld beads they do look like worms climbing over each other (bit cold). I'm sure it'll hold together but it's not a masterclass nor education on welding. It's entertainment.
I'm just trying to puzzle that out. I've got "why?" floating in my mind. I'm just trying to fathom the "why?". Not saying you're wrong, but it does not sit right in my brain at the moment.
I would have thought, pound for pound (say amps to amps) MMA/stick/SMAW would be the best. Bang for the buck stick should (IMHO) dig deeper in the joint.
3mm steel say (as an example material). Amps for an E6011 rod is low with 55-65 amps range otherwise you'll blow through. Stick can always blow through on a 200amp inverter if you crank it up. MIG can of course do it but MIG was designed or at least lends itself to thinner material welding - otherwise we would be welding car panels with cheap stick welders. Stick is "crude" or violent in comparison. Duel shield was invented (I imagine) because MIG/MAG productivity for thicker materials was low hence that would show MIG/MAG on its own isn't the top dog for the most penetrating weld process?
I'm sure you can use either process and MIG wins for speed. But why is MIG automatically going to give deeper penetration? Honest question.
Maybe I could phrase it as your world is Machine Mart. You have a Clarke 151 vs a Clarke MMA200 ARC/MMA Inverter Welder with an E6011 rod. £100 difference in the price (151 is £260 ish vs £166 for the 200 MMA). Which can dig into the steel deeper? I would say stick £ for £ or amps for amps (volts).

When I first saw it I thought it looks a heavy duty build. Then when I saw the skip for a weight I thought it's going to tear itself apart.
I know he's not filled the skip complete yet and fair play it's held up and got some good throws in.
Seems to be the sling that's letting things down.
Looking forward to the next video.

I like that he makes things because he can..no reason why or why not just because he can. And as for the adds and sponsoring a few vids, if I got to muck about in my shed all day (with tools mostly given to Me by big companies!) and make silly things and get paid for it and not have to deal with customers, galvanisers, or steel stockholders then yeh ile stick a promo in now and then!

Also really interested in this since seeing his video,, Shame I've got a lovely condition turbo engine but came off a rather large diesel engine so a bit big for my needs probably looking more for an automotive turbo.
However not really sure where to start with it if I'm being honest.

The thing to remember is he doesn't make his living as a fabricator, he makes his living as a Youtube content producer.
I love the fact he still lives in a 3 bed semi but would people really stop watching him if he moved into a big workshop?
I get the whole "Anyone can do it at home" ethos but the reality is he so far removed from that now given he spends tens of thousands.
