i got dragged out christmas shopping by the missus...(which makes me very very grumpy..!) ..when i chanced upon a stall selling usual tat/rubbish..there was a few tools in boxes so i had a rummage..lots of cheap screwdrivers,pliers,etc etc.. but i was attracted to these..converts a ring or ratchet spanner to 1/4 3/8 or 1/2 "drive to accept a socket.. they actually look well made! (iv,e never seen them before) ..should come in handy...anyway it fair cheered me up.(easily pleased skinflint that i am...!)

it would appear they are made by the apex tool group ,maker of kd tools,gearwrench,part number 9230,seem more common in the states,halfords do very similar ones,seem to be called ratchet spanner adapters...

they will be slimmer then the head of a ratchet so will fit in tighter spaces
