Just thought I might look for some feedback from members about my newly launched webpage that is to accompany some last minute summer / autumn advertising. Was all a bit of a rush and I must admit I am less than ecstatic about the service I got from the builder but then again he was cheap about 1/4 of my previous quotes. Still a lot of tuning to do yet. but what do people think?

It was all created while I was totally re-building the workshop. Full new roof, electrics inside and am now on with the fit out. This is more my thing than talking to computer people who I often don't understand or see life as they do.


I have to get myself a proper camera now and start updating in with better pictures, that stuff I like doing but it takes time

Hi Kent.

That looks great Very nice work.

I'd make a couple of minor observations:

1. Your main content block could do with a bit more padding. Ie make the internal margins larger so it's a cleaner feel. You might have problems with wide images on the fixed size column though.
2. The menu item "ESTATE RAILINGS" on two lines look awful. It's caused by using line height to do vertical alignment. To fix you need to make the space between "ESTATE" and "RAILINGS" non-breaking (   )

I looked at it as though I was searching for a supplier of what you sell:

I think you are correct as to getting better pictures uploaded, the one's you have are ok but just ok, you obviously have some great work that people like us can recognise as such but it's not made the best of with those pictures.

I am now nit picking (the result of reading thousands of CV's over the years) but a couple of spelling mistakes also exist along with a shortage of abbreviation in some places.

Yeah, I plan to get a better camera and bigger images. There is a fair bit of tidying up to do was just taken up with too many things and it was done at last minute with the cheapest bidder. booked advertising in advance of site on what turned out to be an unrealistic finish date from him
I figure on a big update with better images but thanks for the spelling hints will get the Mrs too look through it as I am actually quite badly dyslexic

Just my observations,Highlighted.

Personal and field gates are hot dipped galvanised as standard as are the gate posts as no welding needs carrying out on them(welding galvanised steel gives off highly toxic fumes and severely effects the strength of any weld).

The rails are joined by welding stageredjoints on a brick bond arrangement for better sight lines and the ultimate strength.

Perhaps rejig this wording::

other than that, I like the site, loads up quick etc,easy on the eye, but simple little grammer misstakes spoil it--no excuses.

The " " means 'non-breaking space'. Normally spaces, punctuation and a bunch of other characters are used to decide where to split a line into two when it's too big for the imaginary box it lives in. The non-breaking space does exactly what it says on the tin - it provides a visual space but the computer won't use it when it's considering places to split the line.

The first one is a personal style thing so it's just IMHO The second one is actually broken but the fix is fortunately very easy
