I had a thought about HMRC. What they steal from our hard earned income is their unearned income. So I think we should be able to tax THEM on this unearned income. I vote for 110% in the pound.

We had a young guy as a labourer, to fetch food & water, fuel the vehicles, sort out the welfare coz we were working round the clock in that bitter winter. He was telling us how rough it was round there for work especially for younger folk - he was on all the local agencies books and hadn't had a scrap of work for four months.

He was a good honest lad and it was my great pleasure to give him a glowing report when I got a call from a place he had applied for a full time job about a year later. I don't know if he got it but I hope he did.

Some good pics there matey..Jan 2010 was when we had a canny bit snow..lucky for me i was working down south so only saw it on a weekend when we came home..New tunnel working fine now, a lot less waiting time good work mate.

Love the photo of the bloke and drill in a torrent of water as it cut through! Perfect example of why 110V is used on site did it ever work again?

Yeah, we just jetwash them with fresh water. So long as you get the salt water out they are fine.

Bit of a funny story there. Originally we were meant to drill those holes through at low tide and bung them up until the time came to flood the shaft. The engineer gave us the low tide height so we were just above the waterline. Low tide came and went but we didn't have the bungs yet so we stopped the holes short.

A week later, when we had the bungs, we were told to drill those holes through at low tide again - only probelm was that no-one realised that low tide this week was three feet higher than the week before, so when the hole went through there was a whole ocean waiting to come through it. What you see in the photo is three guys trying desperately to get the drill back in the hole to stop the flood of water coming through. Eventually it went back in and we caulked around the core bit with some blue rope.

We delivered a bike up that way earlier this year and called in at the beach. I was amazed at the sand, it was like talcum powder and it was clean as you say.

Lush dogs them sandancer used to have one myself a few years back.. sadly his back legs went and i had to get him put to sleep,one of the hardest things i have had to do he was one of the family must be hard work looking after three though..? Anyhow you posted a thread about a wood burner a while back did you ever get round to it.? as a fellow sandy i dont mind giving you a hand with welding if you need it..where abouts in shields you from matey,,?

one of them is a PAT dog ( pets as therapy) she is allowed to go into schools carehomes hospitals and the like,
but the other one will rip your leg off as soon as look at you
the one sitting up is the pup and she was sold recently
