From memory the Mini has a panel immediately behind the carb ( where the old original speedo used to be ) and another in the panel behind the rear seat back , when these are removed it makes an ideal entry and exit point for a scaffold tube to pass through !

I thought that too but mine has the cutout in the front bulkhead but no hole in the rear one.
Not a problem, I'll make it in two sections and mount the rear part to the shock absorber towers.

most people run the pole through the front hole and bolt it to the rear parcel shelf, seen one that bolts to the front tower mounts and goes though the windscreen. not sure how balanced that would be though

I made a roller for my mini. It mounts to the subframe mounting points on the front, and the turret tops in the boot.
I made it adjustable to get the centre of rotation somewhere near the centre of mass; allows for predictable one person opperation

It's got wheels on all corners now, so i can wheel it in and out of the workshop, and it knocks down to fit in a car for transportation perpouses.

Just need to finish the crapping project now!

As for making it stay put Woz, I've a similar rotisserie thing I use for something else. I've added a couple of old brake discs as friction pads with a big bolt and a Nyloc nut to adjust with. Once you've got thing done up right there's enough friction between the two discs that it'll hold itself in the right place but you can still give it a shove round fairly easily.

Local scrappy has at least two K-series 1.4 16 valvers in there at the mo, must admit, I'm very tempted!
They've also got an old Maestro with an A+ 1275cc motor in it!
He wants £75 for it but don't know if it would be compatible with the 998 gearbox, any ideas?

Nice set of 13" Sportspack wheels for sale but unfortunately, it doesn't look like he'd even consider putting them on a pallet and he says no 3rd party couriers either .

As far as I remember the 1275 crank has larger webbing so you have to grind any some of the internal casting in the gearbox to stop the crank fouling,just clean the box well if you do this.

Yes they'll fit but it's about a 280 mile round trip so about £50 for fuel plus a looooong drive .

Hi,

I think the hole in the rear bulkhead (used for the dipping process at the factory) was only on pre 1976 models after this the bulkhead was plain.

It could be a reshell into a later model shell perhaps.

I got two admit that I'm very impressed when I see the way ye guys take a car apart patch it up and put it back together again I could probably do the first two bits easily enough but the putting it back together is where I would get lost how do you keep track of all the bits and pieces and nuts and bolt not to mention the wiring I know if I did it I would have a few small bits left and possibly a couple of big bits so I'm wondering do you catalogue every piece you take out and how do you catalogue something like that
