Google Play Services Black Screening Me

I like my old phone but the other night google did the nasty on me
Latest update black screens calls, unable to make nor answer.
Temporarily fixed by deleting all the data from the app but updated itself again after couple days.

Anyone know of a fix, workaround, or anything else to solve this?

ive done a quick check for you but its not something i use even though i have an android phone

older phones have issues with google play update from the read ups on it

ive turned my google play app off and removed it from the screen view

but im finding im going to have to reinstall it just to get a music player why cant they just include it on the phones in the first place my others have it but the newer ones no it got removed instead of all of the junk they put on it instead

sorry but i just use my android phone as a phone or music player with the net search, screens to small for the net nowadays so i just run it through the hotspot and use the main pc instead

a note here if your a 3g phone user you will loose the internet side or in my case it was so reduced only good enough for written pages to be seen

mines older than yours

s3 mini and now an s4 mini prefer a smaller phone the other is samsung j3 2017 phone

i still prefer my s3 mini simple phone to use and the music player
s4 i ripped out alll the apps i dont like or will ever use turning it into a basic phone
ive also done the same with the j3 but being forced to use the google pay store just for the music player

as updating them i never have done then again im not dumb enough to have bank stuff on my phone either
