Interesting you mention this. I seem to wear through the soles of Dickies socks really quickly and have just recently bough half a dozen pairs of JCB branded ones to try. For fit and and function so far they score well but time will tell if they last as well.Personally I only wear these
They last ten times longer than the cat work socks and as mine are red and black I just bin the ones with burn holes in them
A girl ages back told me I had a hole in my sock
I showed her the burn mark on my ankle from earlier in the day![]()
Currently running a batch of black socks from Dickies, they aren't too dear, last well, and can be worn for almost every occasion.Personally I only wear these

Got given a couple of pairs: soft, warm, comfortable. Not cheap. Don't know how they'd stand up to work use .If you want warm….alpaca. But need to be looked after! Im to tight to buy them.

Just to explain my ill chosen choice of words, she sewed them from a bit of inch wide elastic. Place them above the calf muscle, then fold the top of the sock (also hand knitted) down. Socks then stayed in place all day, but it'd leave marks in the skin which took a while to fade.
Ahhh, what memories, what memories....![]()
Well thats because the fleece donors are not cheap to buy, breed, shear, or feed!Got given a couple of pairs: soft, warm, comfortable. Not cheap. Don't know how they'd stand up to work use .

Pity my nearest Costco is 150 miles away. Their online ordering seems to have taken a hit since COVID, I've tried to order stuff but get "We are unable to deliver to your postcode at the moment" or similar.
Must try again as there's stuff I could really use.![]()

Man made fibers just can't compete. Apart from waterproofs I have decided to stop being a tight wad and try to stick to natural materials. Cotton and wool are better than a lot of manmade fabrics and better for environment

that was taken at about 8.30 am, after hed been out all night down to minus 9. Not enough heat loss to melt the icing on the fleece.
