I thought I would share a few pictures of the welding on shelves at work at an agricultural merchants that hold a large amount of gardening equipments other products. There will be a good bit of weight on it.
Any agricultural engineer should be able to do basic welding competantly, it's part of the job. That was done by someone who failed all his exams and managed to avoid all the practical classes completely. He should also avoid welding at all costs...
If you have some 1980 ish Corbeau seats take a look at the welding, might well be **Language**ing abysmal.
A mate had a job welding. He had never welded anything, and one day he proudly tells us he's got a job,
CO2 welding and will be able to make hardtails, sissy bars and stuff. He was welding Corbeau seat frames
at a little workshop near Bexhill. He bought a couple of bits of metal he had welded together along for me to
see, the welding looked much like that. I couldn't bring myself to break his weld, he was so proud of it;-)
You aint seen nothing yet, (not mine i hasten to add) Some of you may have seen this before.
I wonder if its a new build or just a "Repair" View attachment 83934
It's just at the store. Wasn't an agri merchant boy that did it though. Some one in company that said they could weld to save some money. It's racking in a 20ft container
top beads, obviously all the moaning about EN1090 is well founded, its unecessary red tape. Don't slam the door in that place though...........................................
Having been involved with inspection and training I've seen some poor welding on my travels but those are some of the best.
Jim that was a tea in my lap moment reading your post.
