Good way to fill these holes?

I would slide a bit of 6mm plate into the box section and wedge it to the top ,then plug weld it in place through the existing holes. It’s a ten minute job whether stick or mig.

I acquired this stand for my own use outside the home workshop. It needs to be fixed up and painted to make it look a bit more respectable. I'm tempted to weld plates to the open ends, and I definitely want to fill the drill holes. I'm tempted to cut a rectangular section from the top and weld in a repair plate. Or should I plug the individual holes somehow? 3mm wall. Looking for collective ideas. Thanks

I'd put a piece of flat bar on it, you can go thicker if you want

You can get plastic plugs to cap the ends.

Holes dont appear to be round so first enlarge with a step drill. Chop or turn some round bar to fill holes and weld with 1.6mm rods.

@Dilkris said it earlier, but if they don’t go through the other side cut it off and weld it back on upside down.

The problem you’ll have filling those holes in is you’ll very likely distort it

Cut some round bar stock the right depth drop it in the hole and weld round the top ! Grind it flush ! Simple

That was easy. I'll grind them flat when they are all plugged. I need to pop out in a minute.
