Good tungsten results with Dremel and diamon cutting disks

Been busy getting my tig up and running and doing some practise runs.
I did a lot of faffing around on the net and thinking about buying an extra tool for sharpening tungstens (bench vice? belt sander? angle grinder even?). Today I just used some diamond cutting disks (£3) attached to my dremel 300 (already had) and got very good arc results. Stuck the dremel in a vice and played with the speed a bit and got very smooth and sharp tungsten. Got nice arc for practise this evening with these.
Just thought I'd post this so a newbie like me doesn't go round the houses thinking of buying new tools when they already have a dremel : )
I'll post some pics tomorrow of my results.

If you want to get more control you could add one of these to the Dremel and grind on the bottom of the wheel another good trick would be to file a V groove in to the plastic that way you will all so have a support this then will help with repeating your grind and take out a lot of free hand.

GROAN-thats another tool I'll no doubt convince myself I need-still only 13 quid.

Can't beat your grinder tho Hudmut-freshen the tungsten up at the welding bench and most of the dust is contained-plus cut tungstens and square the ends off all on the one tool-just done a batch of new tungstens with mine-ace.

Well in a roundabout way I found what I was looking for - I'll probably shoot you a PM soon Hudmut to get one of them "machines" (snazzy name in the pipeline?) as soon as I can save up a bit of dosh. Exactly what I was trawling the net looking for last week.

Well I guess you could say we both stole the idea because like you I was trying to find away to do the same but still have money left for food and in the end made my own and the cordless bit came about from having to fix a gate at my mates farm with no grinder to be found any place but i would try that jig it was the start of where im at now and it worked.

No name as yet but I'm open to ideas.

Norlander if you want one of them tool's you just need to ask iv got a few in the way and good to here that your as to be named yet grinder is working well for you.
