The conduit needed reaming out to fir the ferrules which was a bit of a pain but I did that last night. I fixed the ferrules into one half of the assembly with pop rivets so frame finished.

Here you go, using waterslide transfer paper.

I printed off the two decals for the gong and the one for the gearbox lever on the meddings drill on one piece of transfer paper as I am a Yorkshireman

I then sprayed the paper with two coats of this and left it overnight. Gloss would have been better than matt in this situation but I already had it so I refer you to my previous statement about where I come from

The frame has received a couple of coats of black smoothrite, because I already had some etc. etc. The decals where cut around carefully with a pair of shears my dad liberated from ICI fibres in Doncaster about 40 years ago.

The decal is soaked until it begins to slide off the backing paper, you need to be careful, it doesn't slide fast and if you push it then it may split. I slid it off the backing into position while the other one soaked, easy peasy. I then used a tea towel to carefully push any air or trapped water to the edge before nicking the wife's hair dryer and giving them a good 10 minute blast on hot.

The wife had some suitable black cord so here it is finished. The band is strapped for cash and relies on fund raisers so I bought them a couple of gong mallets, a hard felt one and softer sheepskin one, it makes a nice ring.

Apart from giving the gong a bit of a clean its ready for the band's next gig on Sunday.

It makes a very loud noise that seems to drive the dog crazy, must be the harmonics. Talking of which time to walk the dog.

The wife had some suitable black cord so here it is finished.

Did you put grommets of any sort in those holes in the gong, or are they rounded well enough not to chafe the cord?

Pretty well rounded, you just push the cord through and knot it.
