Sorry fella, just realised what I've done !!!! I thought it was BB that posted that message. My brain is a little fried this evening. I've been having fun with my new Transmision Line Sub that ive just completed
All I can say is your lucky then, my clodhoppers won't comfortably fit onto the pedals without catching another at the same time so not safe, I had the same problem with the Renault 5 turbo and I also had to be a bit careful with my feet in the MX5 the wife used to have. I do take a wide shoe setting as well maybe that's why I have more of a problem than you.

Glad you,ve mentioned this as ive had the same problem on every German car ive owned including the wifes current blurt an E46...even my own T4 volks van has the gas pedal to tight in the corner

looks like there may not be a need (or ability to pay for) an AWD car for her...she got told today she is being laid off and her last day is next wednesday

i have a friend that runs an agency for supply teachers so need to get on the phone tomorrow to try and sort something out, its not guranteed money each week and will be a drop in pay but atleast its something for now.
apparently the council have decided that each of their schools only need one TA per year group as opposed tot he 2 that they (and most other councils here) have now, so there is one from each year group (so 7 total) that are being laid off, my mrs has only been there since december so it appears to be a last in first out sort of thing.
not an easy time to get a job at the moment here, especially in a school, it took her nearly 18 months to get this job after our son was born (she couldnt work full time until he was nearly 2 because of a problem with her stomach) and even now she is working as a level 2 when she is qualified as a level 3. it was starting to look as if she would have to travel a ridiculous amount to get a decent job until this one came up.
they have said they will give her a good reference to anyone who wants one though so atleast she knows she has that for the next lot of applications.

If you do still want a cheapish 4x4 have a look at the Honda CRV, it is basically unburstable with the 2.0 petrol engine and has a transmission system that is front wheel drive untill it sence's slip then brings in the rear wheels. Fairly economical with a decent driving position for looking over all the hedges in the lanes!
I had one for 5 years and it NEVER had a problem. Sold with 115k on the clock for a low mileage Zafira!
They are common so spares are easy to get and large enough to bung a load of gear in the back too.

the guy i shoot with has a crv but it only ever goes into bone dry fields that my megane can cope with too, but he has a 4wd.
something small, FWD and economical is now top of the order, she still needs a car (or i do and she keeps the megane). we have to go to my mates agency later today to submit her qualifications and he said he can get her atleast 3 days a week from when she finishes in this school but he cant gurantee where the days will be, so it could be driving anywhere from 2 mins each way to 35 miles each way depending on where she is offered. huge drop in money even if she gets 5 days a week but its paid weekly and its still more than being on the dole, plus she can still apply for full time jobs while she is working.
I am in the process of writing her a CV as her old one seems to have vanished.
