Aye, I've been having a play with her. She's all tucked up safely in the workshop for the night now. Thanks ever so much for that vice and those covers. That little vice is a lovely thing. Had a quick play with those covers too. The way you've designed and made those, they fit and work a treat. Loved your project too.

Went through and picked that vice up today. Cheers to both of you for getting that large vice sorted and down here for me.
Dave sent me away with a couple of extra presents too. I'll post some photo's shortly, (Not that I was tinkering and playing in the shed with them earlier though; Honest 
).

When I went through to see atconut today, to pick up that vice, he also gave me a vice from his own collection to add to my own. Thanks ever so much Dave. Truly appreciated. It's a particular type/style which I didn't have until today, but now my collection finally has a European style vice in it. It's a lovely little vice. It's quite entrancing watching the rear jaw move instead of the front jaw. I probably spent far more time out in the workshop this evening, winding it in and out, watching it, than would be classed as normal for a grown man.
Those two lengths of aluminium in front of the vice are another thing Dave sorted me out with. They're aluminium jaw insert covers, with a magnetic strip to hold them in place, and a lip running along the top to locate them. They fit and seat snug as a glove atop the jaw inserts on a 6" vice.
