Hmm, well I wasn't intending to 'mis-quote' you... I was just saying I would never 'promise loads more work' to a supplier, intending to stitch them up (which is how I understand you meant it). Guess I went off at a tangent... I do that a lot, sorry

We've had sneaky gits have us calibrate loads of equipment for them and then backheel payment; by the time we started chasing it turned out they'd gone bust, bought the remains of the company back (with a workshop full of certified gear) and started trading under another name, in the process washing their hands of the old debt. Needless to say they don't get any more kit calibrated by us. What goes around comes around, as I'm sure it does in your original scenario.
