council run tip
last time i went to the tip must have been a 100 gas bottles there all sorts of makes shapes and sizes calor included in a 20ft cage and no you can't have any all i wanted was one all going to scrap when cage is full it's all loaded in to a big skip roll on off type 20 ton thing
i got one from caravan place obscure name so no return so scrap that's going to be my burner it's half finished now

better hide all the posts about gas bottle wood burners in case Calor want their bottles back too!
But I'm sure all the wood burners on here are made with damaged cylinders which the owners don't want back...
Anyhoo...about that welding video dvd..

Hi Guys, sorry to go off track a bit, but for those of you like me who may not have £30.00 odd quid going spare for a DVD I found this set of videos on you tube, from a guy called the Modernblacksmith, there are six in total on mig welding. contains some good realistic practical advice and may be of some use to other members, there is a particular quote in it which made me laugh "you can do the most beautiful looking weld in the world but if this piece is not stuck to this piece then it don't mean ****, It ain't a weld"
well worth a look in my opinion and free, hope it helps someone and I would ask Woz or another mod to move or delete it if links to you tube are not allowed

Good basic down to earth vids. Also managed to watch a bit of the one in the thread title. Excellent quality video of the welds in progress, first time I have been able to see exactly what goes on behind the light

Yes, thanks for the link, Norm. Well worth watching, downloaded the lot via YouTube Downloader to watch at home anytime. Good advice given in a down-to-earth fashion, from somebody with lots of practical experience. Mostly for metal over 1.6 mm, mind, but still excellent.
