Glue for Polyurethane resin

Hi All,
Just had to replace the rechargeable battery in my Freelander2 key fob.
Muppets at the dealers forgot to mention the fobs were rechargeable & you have to swop over keys regularly to keep the batteries in good condition.
Having split the case in two, (ultrasonic welded in manafacture) to replace the battery, I now need to reclose it. The case is made of a polyurethane resin but not much info on the net about a suitable glue.
Any thoughts.

Revell Contacta would be my choice but I'm not 100% on whether it's suitable for PU. It melts both sides and "welds" them together. Not glue as such but much stronger as a result.

As most of the other guys have said on here, "two part Epoxy Resin". The same as I use to fix dings in my polyurethene windsurfing boards, other glues would melt the polystyrene core.

The problem with adhesives that melt the parent material then bond the resultant mush together, is that if its unsuccessful or you need to get the item apart in the future, you're left with undefined edges where the clean joint used to exist.

Absolutely Nick. The stuff I mentioned is a one time only thing, there's no getting it apart afterwards if it's worked properly.

is it the three button variety? I just did the same job and got a nice quality replacement case of the bay that clips together.

Not just use superglue?
I had to split the BMW keyfob for mine to replace the battery and just gorilla glued it back together. Not the prettiest solution but I really didn't care as long as it worked!

Hi All,
I checked out the Revell Contacta & basically it's a Polystyrene solvent rather than a glue, not suitable for PU. In reply to the comment about spare case off EBay it's got 5 buttons. Followed the other suggestions & boght some 2 part epoxy resin. It seems (subject to proving in use) to have done the job. Thanks for the suggestions
