Gloves for Mig

Ok going to give the Ejendals Tegera 118A a try, there was the none of the Tegera 17 in a size 11,and some gloves come up small in the palm width.

I am halfway between a 10 and 11, the 118A is snug in a ten, and the 17/19 is a tiny bit loose in 11 but gets to be about right once heavily signed.

The 17 is a short drivers glove cuff, which makes them good for tacking up, but when you're putting in actual beads, tends to result in the occasional spatter burn on the back of your wrists.

The 19 is the longer version, and seems to be stocked more places.

There's also the 8 which is like the 118A with a goat palm, but insulated on the back. Our welders in Finland swear by them for MIG and high-power TIG use, so they must still be pretty dextrous. I have never seen them over here though.

Well a very nice pair of 118A in size 11 (XXL) arrived today.
Look well made and nice balance between comfort and protection, if the cuffs were a bit shorter they would be lovely.
One note for anyone thinking of getting these, not sure if its just the stupid paws i was born with, but the Size 11is stupidly tight, they may stretch with wear, but my fingers feel like the are being constricted when i make a fist. may try a pair of size 12.

Strangely enough today I did a bit pf pigeon- chit MMA welding on 2mm thick Chinesium soft mild steel .

A few months ago I happened to get some Neat's-foot oil on the gloves and rubbed it in.

Today I discovered they are almost as soft as TIG gloves .

+1 for TIG gloves. I've used a variety of (mainly kangaroo skin - vegetarians look away now...) TIG gloves for MIG welding, and I reserve the big cow-hide mitts for grinding.

It's interesting that we can buy safety shoes and all sorts of other gear, yet I have only ever seen advert for welding gloves. Kevlar being such good stuff, it surprises me greatly.
