Glass Topped Table

I have a commission for a glass topped dining table.
It will be around 3ftx4ft (900x1200mm)

Legs will be mild steel, and having looked at some others,
will be bolted to a plate which is glued to the table top.

So, questions...

What sort of glue?
I've had a google, and there does seem to be many options.
Any personal recommendations, or tips as to the best way to prime/clean.

The table will be in a house with a disabled (sometimes wheel chair using) person, and a pre-school child and a teenager, so the top needs to be fastened really well...

I've tried to convince the customer to go with a steel frame around the glass for safety, but she likes the clean look.

Second question:

I've been quoted £100 for a 1200x900 sheet of toughened 10mm thick glass with smoothed edges (so not bevelled I'm guessing)
Is this a good price? Average?
Any recommended suppliers in the Leeds/Wakefield/Bradford area?

I made a table frame to suit an Ikea table top....

The framework is pretty basic.

Ended up using suction cups to attach the top which I must admit, works very well.
Occasionally needs a push into place, but doesn't wobble about. at all.

What sort of glue?

I'd be tempted to look at what windscreens are bonded with. They must be replaced all the time, so a thin bead should do the trick.
