I havnt a clue regarding legality.
I'm gonna add the sides onto the bumper this week. Its going to be a fair chunk of work, I have to trim more i-beam.
It will look much like the stock bumper when its finished. I gave it a rough coat of hammerite stone-chip, it needs more coats. Gonna spend an evening cleaning the chassis with a dremel, and give the chassis a coat of stone-chip too.

Had to cut 8 gearbox cross member bolts off my Discovery 2. Couldn't get at them with anything bigger than a dremmel, took ages and multiple little cutting discs.jeesus a sucker for punishment using a dremmel

Ill use a dremel for the bits that I can't get to with a flap disk on the grinder. Its quite a good little de-ruster, jeez ive done enough of that in my life!
@qwakers hi there, it isnt waterproof? Im using hammerite stonechip and it says will protect against rust.
It's designed to protect sills, I would have thought it was a good solution, but you are saying different, very interesting
The hammerite stuff is over-paintable, so no harm done, probably multiple laters will be good anyway.
I like the idea of being able to repair scratches fast, cos its going to get scratched up. Stonechip seems ideal for that.

ive always considered stonechip as not waterproof, but thats generic stonechip, i have no specific knowledge of hammerites version. having said that, i would always epoxy prime then stonechip over the top if stonechip is the finish you want.

So this beauty is what im using for the corners, its 6mm or so
I made some hangers for the side by building into the existng hangers, turns out 50x50mm box fits literally perfectly, so Ibolted it in 3 places, and ill make a hanger from this
hung loosley, its just sat very easily, fitting is going to be a doddle, which is nice
looking forward to welding the corners, I enjoyed them on the front bumper.
Will bevel these, just getting a rough notion how they fit. Hoping to get to them this weekend.

Tis aye, I had a notion that it would be handsome. Credit due to Land Rover for making a good looking bar.
This is the car it came off, I was waiting a long time for one to come up. I paid 50 quid for it, and then trimmed bits off to make it fit.
Still needs a mounting plate for it, and actually, the bar had an impact, you can see it below. I'm going to try and right it, before proceeding further. If I dont manage it, im not phased.
But thats another project, albeit a small one. Need to focus for now on the back bumper, and get it cleared out of the way.

I feel like im spamming ye at this stage, but whatever, im trying to avoid staring at the war all day, this is provinding me with a distraction.
I'm nearly ready to start welding, but didnt have it in me this evening. Also, as soon as I start, the car is going to be off the road till its finished, which I imagine will takea few days.
