I dont have land for bonfires and I don’t have any old petrol garden machinery. I have 2 gallons of 10 year old petrol (some premix) and a gallon of diesel. I was hoping they’d take it at the tip but won’t. Where do you get rid of waste petrol?
Providing it has been stored in clean airtight containers I would just use the petrol a half gallon at a time in the car added to an almost full tank it should be fine.
My bike was SORN from winter 2019 until this summer, I added a gallon of fresh petrol to the half gallon or so still in the tank and it started and ran as normal.
Personally, I wouldn't be consulting the fire brigade or the council, before you know it you will probably end up be fined for not having some relevant bit of paperwork!
Assuming you aren't going to save it up for Molotov’s for the impending revolution there must be somebody locally that would snap your arm off to take it away - usually somebody with a ratty old discovery burning veg-oil that would gladly drink the lot.
Another option might be to stick it all in a (metal) container and use it for soaking stuff in - always handy to have a can of stuff around to dunk parts in to soak.
City Fuel Services is one of the UK’s largest buyers of waste fuels, which include mixed, contaminated, and redundant fuel stock. We operate a 24/7, dedicated mis-fuel call centre.

Petrol I would check there is no water, or pour it off. I wouldnt hesitate to put a gallon in with a tank of fresh fuel in most petrol cars or bikes provided they dont have direct injection engines.
I quite frequently added small amounts of 2T mixed petrol to my cbr600 tank.
Diesel while smelly, is great for parts cleaning and I have a gallon just for that purpose. I dont own any diesel vehicles. If you leave it a while the dirt settles out and could probably be filtered to use as fuel.
Thanks for the suggestions. I’m not putting any of it in my car. Just dont want to risk it. It’s a 3 cylinder TSI engine. I’m in mid cornwall if anyone wants it. You also get 3 free 5 litre fuel cans - 2 green and 1 black . Can deliver within 10 miles of st austell
Your TSI engine is direct injection so wise choice not to use the petrol although it would likely be ok, the 2t oil will be massively diluted and anything else caught by the filter.
You dont know somone nearby with an old petrol car? Anything before 2008 should be a safe bet, and most before 2013 too.
Check theres no water first, pour into clear container and let it settle, if it seperates discard the bottom layer of water. I used 4 pint milk bottles and a vodka bottle.
