Use a D-bit? You won’t do a blind hole with a hand reamer. A reamer does not cut right the bottom of the hole. Hole must be slightly longer and will have a small bevel at the end. One reason is because the reamer should be floating in its holder and needs the small bevel/taper of the machine taper to centralise the reamer on the hole to be finished. So how do you do blind holes?
They don’t have a long start taper
I use machine reamers for blind holes nearly every day and sharpen the thingsUse a D-bit? You won’t do a blind hole with a hand reamer. A reamer does not cut right the bottom of the hole. Other than the tiny lead you can ream a blind hole especially when you’ve drilled just slightly under so the chamfer left is Minimal defending something that everyone knows has bored the **** out of me nowDid I? Read it again. I said the taper was less on a machine reamer - but not non-existent.
How do you ream right to the bottom of the hole. It must be longer than required as you cannot cut the botyom of the hole with a reamer.
