I dont get paid for my uploads and not interested in subscribers either

I dont even have a youtube account either, though i started to join up on youtube but as i didnt want to give all of the tracking details it wanted to create an account, I went elsewhere instead

however ive made 2 woodstoves that can be used in multi ways to burn within them

they can be used in vertical position and also in downdraft mode as well

i think patron, coffee thing, ko-fi or similar is the way to go rather then ads, but you need a consistent output to build a viewer base willing to pay up for content

Hit them right and you only need one hammer.

I sold it to start my business in march 2000 . I was talked into it by someone who wanted a cheap desperate subbyA decision that ruined my life financially and lost a car that is need a lottery win to get back!

Cutting Edge Engineering is everything that was good about old Abom but better IMO. Last time I watched Abom he made something like a 30 minute video of waffling nonsense then cutting 4 holes for a 13 part 3 month long project that could have been a 20 minute video without all the infomercial/shill BS, got to the point it was impossible to skip to the interesting bits.

Yeah - I think they pay too much attention to advice on "beating the algorithyms", which tends to suggest multi-part series to keep viewers hooked, and "long-form content" (aka 30-45 minutes).

I'm saddened to say that I've even given up on This Old Tony around halfway through his most recent videos - he's very funny (and skilled) in 10-15 minute doses but it does feel he's stretching it now.

Just as an FYI, you need 1k subs and 4k watch hours in a year I think it is to get monotized.

I know I waffle on sometimes but I try to keep my videos 10-15mins long if I can. Some channels can pull off long videos but for some my attention span removes itself from the room

I feel like I’m finding my feet a bit more lately. It’s so easy for me to talk about one subject for an hour and then I end up cropping it all out. My new camera and software I’m using has made it easier and harder for me in some respects. I’m using Final Cut Pro which is great. But I am still learning.

My youtube channel has become a part of my life now .
I do a least 2 vids a week usually on a Sunday night .
I really enjoy the editing side of things , a decent bottle of red wine just relaxing editing video .
My patreon channel is doing very well , sort of pay to view.
You get early access no adverts & plenty of swearing.
The revenue from both , allows me to be able to work 4 days a week .
I declare these earnings & have a accountant that keeps me right .
If i need a camera or a bit of kit for the shop it all goes against tax .
I also do product reviews on items that are relevant to what I do .
Some of the enquiries about product reviews are unbelievable.
I always keep it real and down to earth .
A good reputation is hard to get but easy to lose .

I have found, subscribed to and tired of many channels, but there are a few that keep me coming back, Cutting Edge Engineering, Andrew Camarata, Diesel Creek, and of course our doubleboost. Andrew's appeal probably relates to the fact he has no interest in analytics and algorithms, he just does stuff he finds interesting, which in turn seems to be what his subs find interesting too, and you'll almost never hear him rambling or talking for too long.

South Main Auto is best for cars imho, he's nice and methodical with diagnosing electrical faults.

Torque Test Channel is interesting.

Project Farm has some good content, some of his tests last years.

Vice Grip Garage worth a look, especially his earlier stuff.

Nick's Garage as well, old school dyno tuning.

Post 10, need to watch a few really!.
