I can't remember ever doing a camchain on a marina. Especially on the O-series.The old Marina does not seem so bad now

If you look at Bosch and Siemens stuff, a lot of has "Made in PRC" on the labelThe feeling I get is that a lot of stuff that says "made in Germany" is perhaps better described as "assembled in Germany".
Their older stuff is of course top notch

Was made in 04, so got to expect this sort of thing I guess. Its obviously been like that for a fair while.
Does the lid have some sort of gasket ?
I have got a BMW 6 cylinder diesel engine here with a broken chain. Front end though. Seems to be a problem with all ally engines. Iron block and ally head engines do not seem to suffer much.

I'm planning to fit a B-series from a MGB into a Marina next month. Have been told even tho' the motors are the same there are several differences including spigot bearing, sump, etc.. it's not always as easy as you'd think even on older cars.The old Marina does not seem so bad now
(the old engine was good - I left it parked over winter with no antifreeze and now it overheats - I'm guessing head / headgasket / block )

The BMW stuff I've done battle with has some of the most illogical, bizarre and needlessly overcomplicated design decisions I've encountered on any vehicle.
Looks like te big dipper at Blackpool
Corroded earthing POINT problems . Remove the earth connection and run a proper soldered terminal with a dedicated earth wire back to the battery don't try to use the chassis return . Any car with ICUs in the floor pans or areas accessible to spray are disasters, like the Citroën BX. rangeNot just German designers.
My latest project is a Renault Espace - ODB2 ecu port and fuses / relays are in a box under the passenger floor mat
