Malcolm, here are screen dumps (took me a while to remember some of the RT-11 commands (need to get a book!). Looks like software here is for acoustic intensity and reverberation studies.

Well, Malcolm, it appears that the system works. I can copy the acoustic intensity and reverb to a floppy and send you so you can at least have them in a box for when you find a floppy for it. Do you need the GenRad part number so you can search(eBay or whatever resources you may have)? Here are a couple of screen shots I took while I checked it out.

I'm back home now and have sent an email. I'm really impressed that you know how to operate the old thing. Will have to try the .DIR command on my new Genrad to see if there is any software. If there is it'll be electrical stuff.

I didn't get far on mine before the hard drive became noisy. I found the first bending frequency of a Renault 4 is about 19Hz (whole car bends up and down around the middle at that frequency), and the steering column mode is 26.5Hz. That's all good for an old car where the biggest inputs are wheel hop at about 13Hz. On a modern car everything is very much stiffer, but so are tyres and suspension so not a lot different. I was hoping to find photos of the results. Didn't unfortunately.

You will have a problem getting the file (even as attachment) from DOS format to DEC format .. we will have to experiment. Do you have floppies for SDRC software or only the resident on hard disk?
