Hi. I am new to this, so hello all
I have just bought a Ferm mig 100 from a friend at work. Basically I want to know if I can weld using a generator and what sort of gen I need for my attempt at putting a new wing on me motor. Any help would be great.

Hi, welcome to the forum, sorry to say but with a 55Amp minimum setting you will be blowing holes in bodywork not welding it. Need to find something with a 25-30A minimum setting.

Thanks for the quick reply. as you can see I know nowt, but i want to get one, have a practice then weld. I have seen this on ebay CLARKE MIG WELDER 30/130amp 230v TURBO COOLED
Ow's about that then?

Clarkes have a good reputation on here as decent hobby welders, is it something like a 135TE or EN you're looking at?
You also have to consider mask and gloves etc and are you using gas or not?
