Hi guys I am having issues with a welding setup that I have been using recently. I have my mobile generator https://www.kentecgenerators.com/ge...-p12000-230-115v-avr-petrol-generator-425-382 which is about 6 months old. I have been using my fronius trans steel 2200 on it but the welder keeps cutting out after a short run of welding, anything from 1 second to 30 seconds welding time and then cuts out. After a short period of time (maybe 8 seconds) the welder comes back to life and will attempt to weld again. At first I thought it was the extension lead I was running so I plugged the welder into the mains supply and the welder ran fine 0n a 6mm 50mtr extension lead (no issues at all for 6 hours) I decided to try the fronius on a bigger set of extension leads from the generator to see if that cured the problem but it was still not working correctly. I plugged my 410 amp Oxford into the generator and it worked no problem at all even on high amps. What also has me confused is the fact that I have used the fronius on a 200kva genset and ran it off of long extension leads and its had no issues. The Pramac generator is not some cheap eBay tat and it does power the big Oxford so power output shouldn't really be an issue should it ? it has an AVR on the pramac so shouldn't this iron out any ups and downs of power output if that is what the fronius is unhappy with ?
The only other option I have is to buy a longer intercon for the Oxford but that is a heavy remote with a 15kg spool.
