Hi all
Have just spent 4 hours on the web trying to decide what to about a generator and feel slightly harrased.
I work in contracting and do quite a bit of welding, often heavy plate up to 10mm when i am doing machinery repairs.
I have decided that I must! invest in a suitable generator but am finding impossible to narrow it down,
My preffered geny is a wolf 8.75kva, however opinions seem to vary as to wether this will run a 200amp welder. I decided to test how far I could push my current geny (no pun intended) and she managed 140amp on a 3.6kw machine, not the nicest welds and certainly taxing the geny.
So do i go for the wolf, and hope she will do 200amp or do i buy a specific welder generator which says it will produce 200amp but only has a 4kw output??
Help!!
