Hi, I'm Diego and I'm a Chilean Welder/Fabricator living in Melbourne. I've got qualifications from the Chilean AWS chapter (Indura Chile). (Mild steel, stainless and aluminium Tig, Mig, Stick and oxy) I like creating tools, motorcycles and structural steel fabrication and installation. I'm currently using a WIA stick welder supplied by the employer, which is not bad at all. I run it with 7016 ranging 90 to 120 amps reverse polarity. At the Factory we have Unimig (jasic rebranded), WIA and a couple of Hitachi Mig welders. Anyways, thanks a lot and have a good day!
Thanks a lot guys! I'll post some pictures and maybe some stories when I get home. Now I'm going for a corona-walk! Cheers
Not from San Diego are you Chile is a country I am determined to visit one day! Preferably by sailing yacht.
Welcome aboard This is a great place full of friendly folk, some of them (not me) even know stuff about welding Do post up pics of the stuff you do, we like pictures and projects on here
Hello, and Welcome. Like fizzy, one day I would like to visit Chile, especially the Atacama; and bring my telescope.
I'm trying to figure out how to upload pics. I'm pretty sure that there must be an explanatory post about it somewhere here so I'll look for it
On my computer, after I'm finished typing in a message, I click on the "Upload a File" next to "Post Reply", then chose a photo and click on it, click on open to attach it, then click on "Post Reply"; done.
I managed to find some time to post some pictures of a job i worked on the last couple of weeks. elevator shaft and structural beams for a house built in melbourne.

Thank you for the suggestion. Not sure which one you were referring to, but I had a look on Google Earth and noticed there are quite a few sectors. Santiago is a big city, but those further south look more appealing to me for a Holiday.
