Hi I'm Valkie, Named after my old motorcycle a Honda Valkyrie
1500 cc 6 cylinder beast with 6 carbs ....just to make sure it gets plenty of juice.
Had to give it up a few years ago when I managed to get vertigo.
Bikes and balance problems don't mix.
I am a nearly retired Mechanical engineer/ Toolmaker/ quality/ EHS Manager living in Australia.
Yeah, I know, but dont hold it against me.
For many years I have used all manner of tools and equipment.
I have quite a collection of tools and equipment, and can use them all.
I Love woodworking and make weapons for my daughter for her Comicon outfits.
For many years I have used MIG, TIG, Oxyacetylene in some of my roles and have struggled with Arc welding.
I have always found MIG, TIG and OXY much easier
I have purchased my own portable MIG welder a couple of years ago and found that thin material is not as easy as my normal industrial type welding exploits, which may also have something to do with the cheap welder.
I can do a passable arc weld on thick material, but with anything less than 1mm I am useless, unless you enjoy watching me fight with a stuck rod and making the thing glow while swearing profusely.
I have been reading this forum for a while now and have read some very helpful posts.
Helpful enough to give me confidence to assault my camper trailer and carry out some serious improvements.
They turned out great, I now have the camper from hell, with everything I could ever need.
I do have one question though.
I am trying to add a gas soleniod to my welder.
A very helpful member is aiding me, but I posted some pictures using "Tinypics", but he stated that he couldn't see the pictures.
Can someone give me a little guidance on how to post pictures to this forum, what conversion or bucket you use, so I can post my machine internals?
Thanks
