Chris
I'll see if I can sort you out with a replacement glass, we normally have a few old regulaors knocking about that have been scrapped after their BCGA inspections that I could take a glass from
It is very unlikely that replacement gauge windows for this type of cheap gauge will be available. Problem is that the gauge is so cheap that replacement of the entire gauge is what the manufacturers intend in the event of breakage or failure. The higher quality gauges with glass windows are expensive enough to warrant spares availability.
Just a quick question if you dont mind.
How often should you get you regulator checked out? and where abouts would one take one to get it inspected? I recently picked up a 2nd hand welder with a twin gauge reg on it and not got an idea how old it is or when it was last checked. cheers.
Cheap.......I seem to think the ones in the photo are around the £75.00 mark from Gas and Gear centres
What , the actual gauge ??
To be honest I don't know if HSE treat Industrial and domestic/hobbie users separately, wouldn't have thought so, but not sure.
To follow BCGA guidlines to the letter you are supposed to get them checked annualy and replace them once they are 5 years old, most people we deal with get oxy/fuel gas stuff done annualy but don't bother with shielding gas regs at all.
You can get regs checked to BCGA CP7/GN7 at most welding equipment distributors or BOC Gas and Gear centres
Cheers fella, it might be worth getting another one because im unsure of its age, its looks and works fine, just a bit tatty. I had a look in the shop and there cheap enough, BOC would probably want more then a new one just to test mine, then tell me its had it and try selling me another one.![]()
