Gates and Railings Jigs??

Hi all

I am going to make a hand rail down some steps for my nan and i was wondering if anyone on here how dose it often uses any type of jigs?

I was thinking if i made one it will help me keep it looking right and should make it quicker to fabricate the end result?

Any thoughts

Jigs are only useful if you are making quite a few of exactly the same item. It can often take ten times longer to make a jig than make a single panel/gate/handrail/whatever you are making. The time is saved later down the line on the manufacture of the remaining lots.
I wouldnt bother with one in your case - you will be able to make a decent job with a good square, a decent tape measure and er..a flat surface.

Just make sure you get the angle right and make sure it is all parallell and away you go. It really is not that difficult........just daunting when you not done one before. It'll be fine.
