I've made a mould for some 550x550x130 high pillar caps, discussed in another thread.
I'm erring over what mix to use.
I WAS going to go
4 plastering sand
2 white cement
1/2 hydrated lime
That mix was from someone who did his to approximate done Yorkstone ones he had.
But for mine I'm going to put black mortar tone in. In keeping with the whole Gothic esque we're look we want.
I think the plastering sand is to get a fine finish?
I think the white cement is to have a light coloured base?
Not sure on the lime, for colour maybe?
If I'm going black then I can't see that ordinary Portland cement won't work?
Anyone done similar, thoughts?
