gassless mig weld

good day everyone.

i want to ask if i could use a gas mig wire with my gassless mig weld?
i just got a free mig wire from my friend but he told me that it is gas mig wire.
can i use that to my gassless unit?

Some machines can be used with gas, or gasless. If you have such a machine you will need the extra items to use gas, and need to alter the polarity of the cables. You may also have to change the contact tip.

Search for your model on the internet to see whether it can be used this way, or tell us what it is.

If you are not using gas, you must use gasless wire. Normal (gas) wire will not produce any kind of weld without shielding gas. You will only get a lot of spatter, lots of bubbles and it will not have any strength if it even sticks at all.
