Evening all,
I've a question about gasless mig welding, sorry if it's been covered before.
I've bought a dual purpose gas/gasless MIG welder. It came set up for gasless welding, with the appropriate wire, and no regulator. I plan on converting it, but haven't got around to it yet.
I have a couple of things to join at the weekend, so i'll use the flux cored stuff for now. I was having a quick mess about earlier, i've only just taken the thing out of the box, and i seem to be able to get a decent weld out of the gasless, but some of them looked a bit porous.
I was always taught, mig, push away with the torch, stick/TIG draw the rod towards you.
With MIG though, it's to ensure the gas shroud is projected in front of where you're going, right?
So with flux cored stuff, should i switch round? Pull instead of push?
Or am i just crap?
Cheers,
Doug
