    I need to make a gasket for a carb but I bought some gasket paper but it's no good as I need it to be 3mm thick can anyone recommend anything

    Teflon sheet works well for such things. But 3x1 mm works too, if using cornflakes box, smear with grease before you assemble

    Tufnol apparently used to contain asbestos as a filler, so if you come across an old bit use precautions if you need to machine it.

    It's dust is nasty even even without the asbestos so care should be taken regardless.

    Go into your local roofing stockist and on the counter there should be little EPDM samples the size of cup mats..make perfect Gaskets;)
