gas space heater

Lidl special coming up .....space heater....would this run straight propane with a propane regulator?...
I have a 37kg?....erm large cylinder of propane ,thinking of running it out, this a fair bit cheaper than the power devil offered in machine mart......best guess's please?

Seems a bit strange specifying 5 or 11kg cylinders. I have a similar-looking thing running off a 47kg cylinder.
Maybe I'm about to be en-gulfed in a fireball!

The way I read it, it will run off butane or propane, most things will run off either with the right reg.

It was the 5 and 11kg that had me questioning ....also the pressure is 300mbar?....most propane regulators are set at 37mb?.....propane regulators

Probably works like a big roofers torch,they need a higher pressure/gas flow than a normal small gas heater, It does say 17Kw output.

looks good for the price does any one know if you run them in a small space can it harm you health? seem to remember reading something about carbon monoxide poising

17kw is a lot of heat for a "small space",I have a 3kw electric space/fan heater ,which works ok but takes a while to heat up a 6x4m garage ,I was thinking of blasting some heat in using the free gas I have, then using the electric to maintain the temp and hopefully combat the moisture from using gas...

i use the 'master' branded propane space heater in my garage which is 24' x 18',
bought mine from screwfix about 3 years ago £80?
think it's 35,000btu output,

my garage is concrete block with insulated/plasterboarded ceiling so holds the heat quite well,
this time of year i'll fire it up initially for 5-10mins then all it needs is a short blast about every hour,

i managed to run it all of last winter on one 47kg bottle which is due to run out any day now,
bear in mind propane does create some moisture in the air though.

You're not wrong, I used to use a propane space heater... for about a week, until I saw how rusty my machinery was getting...

Why not cut two 1 mtr equilateral triangles in 5 mm plate and put 10 or more two inch tubes through , say 4 ft long , encase them at the ends in a foot wide chest , at one end put the blower in and at the other take out the moist exhaust then use a simple cheap pedatal fan set on oscillatiing to blow the clean warm dry airoff the exchangers around the shop .

This type of exchange heater is good almost anywhere as it also acts as a big radiator when the burner is in the off cycle .
