Hi it is a sealey supermig 150/5.V2s.which i would like to fit a new euro torch, the Solenoid is in the old torch.wondering where i wire it up to.thanks.
Right. If the solenoid is in the torch it isn't a solenoid, it's a manually operated valve.
Do you know what voltage the new solenoid works on? It needs to operate when the feed motor starts. If the solenoid works off the same voltage as the motor you can connect it to the switched supply to the motor controller board.
Hi i have yet to buy a solenoid,i have already bought a second hand torch, and fitting. then read on the forum about the solenoid problem, but not anything on how to wire it up. so now i need to buy a solenoid to find the voltage. Is that correct? Presume the switch supply to the motor control board is 12v?
Your best bet would be to send Weldequip (a forum member) a PM and ask him, he'll be able to supply the part too.
I don't know this specific welder, but I guess you could have the choice of a 12 or (even 24) volt DC solenoid working off the motor PCB supply or a mains solenoid working from the mains contactor.
