Ok so I now have the euro socket, gas solenoid and a chopped up clarke 151en.
So I have read a few threads but it is not quite making sense to me, mainly because I am horrendously stupid when it comes to anything electrical.
The old torch had 3 wires going into it, one of which cam from the earth lead plug. Ignoring that one the other two must have controlled the trigger? The euro socket also has two wires coming off it.. so I'm guessing that these two need wiring up with the old two coming from the machine? So where does the solenoid come in? In all my wisdom I have deduced that the gas hose from the machine and the gas hose for the socket go on each side of the solenoid
The solenoid has three prongs on it.. do the wires for the original torch go to the gas solenoid and then into the new socket? And then the third prong is earthed to the case or something?
The gas solenoid would go to J1 and J2 on the circuit board or the two common pins on the two power setting switches.
The heavy wire to the old torch connects to the brass body of the socket; usually via a lug on the threaded feed tube. The other two wires go to the two small wires on the socket.
ahh cool, so just wire it to the body of the euro socket then yeah? I will do further investigation into the J1 and J2 then perhaps get some soldering on the go!
