i have a clarke 135 te and the co/2 argon mix gas stuff
the regulato0r has to be on 6 before any gas comes out and i seem to get through a bottle in a couple of hours is this normal??????

and is there a cheap supplier near me in wolverhampton at the mo i use machine mart and find them reasonable but i get through so much gas its expensive

the little bottles last sod all time, and the regs for them are rubbish, if you want to do any serious amount of welding the refillable bottle is the way to go.

what are the refillable ones are they the big ones??

how much do they cost etc and what would i need for my welder

also at the mo i use co2/argon mix is that right all i do is old classic cars

Argon/CO2 is the best stuff to be using yes. The refillable cylinders come in various different sizes ranging from around 2'6 high, up to the large industrial ones.
BOC Gases have a nationwide network of cylinder centres & agents, you can contact them on TEL:0800 111 333 to find out where your nearest is. They operate on an annual rental basis, which starts at £44.05 per year, with £34 for a refill (all prices +Vat). The smallest size cylinder in question, has around 40X the gas capacity of the small canisters! so you can see the cost savings soon add up. It will cost you around £40 for the required industrial fitting gas regulator & conversion pipe kit required to upgrade.
