AW come your all helpfull on this site i have asked a local welder for help and they didnt want to know. i dont really like collage so thats out the question everything i know i have learnt myself but this forum buissness seems to be good first time i have tried this to learn somthing normally i get books thanks for your help so far i will post pic tommorow.. ta again

Quite often the best way! (with a bit of technical stuff thrown in from books & sites like this).

You MUST step the bottle pressure down with a Regulator. If you don't, apart from it being dangerous, you will end up blowing components in your welder.

Too True - a CO2 bottle sits at about 50 bar, ie about 700 psi

Looks like a wire feed motor from a Portamig
It's not a proper welding regulator, probably from a brewery. The outlet pressure may not be adjustable, does it have an allan key adjustment on the front?

No but after your words yesterday i aint used it but looked closely at it and it does have on the side a + AND - SIGN AND AN ARROW BUT NOTHING SEEMS TO TURN ALSO IT HAS LBS 50 IN2 (2 BEING SMALL OVER THE IN) ALSO SAYS MAX WORK PRESS ON IT BEFORE THE LBS/..

That'll be Maximum Working Pressure 50psi - OK for Oxy/Acetylene cutting 3" steel plate! but way too much for MIG welding. See if you can adjust it with the + & - setting; you want a 'fine hiss' coming out the end of your torch.

What if i put a tester on the pipe what sort of presure do i need to be getting out of it...after the reg ....

Does that 'hole' on the front have threads inside? in which case there's someat missing - the PA Knob, pressure adjusting knob.

na i thought that it just seems like a stopper or some kind in the end...

Hi all again i cant seem to adjust the reg at all the hole in the side just seems to go in about an inch and has no type of hex key in it either.. i bought a new roll of 0.8mm wire today and it has made things so easy for me to weld i just seem to get about 2" then either loads of splatter or i get a hole what am i best adjusting i have tried the speed higher it just seems splatter more and when i reduce it then it just doesnt feel right please help...
