Gas problems

I tried welding with CO2 this morning and all i got was bird-poo welds.
I varied CO2 flow, power settings, wire speed, etc. Tall,sloppy welds without penetration. My flux welds are outstanding compared to the CO2 welds.
was similar to trying to weld with a sewing machine. Got that sizzle sond only once, though i tried over & over.

Are you sure it is pure CO2, not CO2/Nitrogen mix?

Pepsi dispenser. Tank says Carbon Dioxide.

Have you changed the polarity of the torch over for gas ?

Post some pics of the welds please, you'll get far more advice if we can actually see what's wrong. 'tall, sloppy bird-poo welds' doesn't help in the slightest.
