gas or no gas

hello. i've recently purchased a 'no gas' mig welder with the intention of restoring an old classic car. it's a sealey model, or which i've heard of before.

what i would like to know is the pro's and con's of 'no gas' welding. i preferred this type of welder as i was informed it would be better for welding outside, which is what i will be doing. there is no gas that gets blown away apparently.

any help would be grateful.

Gotta agree with the above, you will be far better off using gas

gasless is just wire.

Gasless is too hot for bodywork.

Gasless is good for farm use for fixes. For general use, gas is much cleaner, easier to see/hear, and works well on thin metal.

No, you can run gasless wire if you really want to but can't see the point for light weight "hobby" type welding, the wire is expensive, it's not that easy to use and the finished result is nowt to write home about
