I'm pretty certain Gasman has an agent in Swindon if that's any help? I know it's a bit of a trek but the cost of fuel will by far outweigh the rental from AP or BOC. Send him a PM, he may have someone even closer to you. 
You could also give air liquide a try, they're a rental one but they're considerably cheaper than the aforementioned ones.
