Check the thread on the push-in tubing fitting that screws into the solenoid. If the thread is parallel, it shouldn't have PTFE tape, and the chances are it has a seal, possibly at the bottom, to mate with a corresponding surface in the solenoid. If the fiting thread is tapered, and the female thread in the solenoid is, too, then it's a PTFE tape sela jobbie. Or could it be one of these, with an o-ring seal:

Mine the bigger bottle with 100 bar of pressure... Not that this makes it any better lol.
Yeah I switched it back shortly after as I didn't notice much difference with it like that.
I'd love to go for a bigger refillable bottle but I was quoted over £200 to get up and running with gas from local motor factors. Whereas I got everything needed for the disposables inc gas for £100. I don't weld much and am just messing about trying to learn a new skill.

I'm pretty sure it's a parallel thread but no sign of any seals or seat for it to seal against. There was tape on it from factory so I assumed it should be there? I will take another look just be sure there is no rubber seal on it.

I would suggest that the leak is quite possibly the soft plastic tube where it is inserted into the push fitting, push fittings like that are not really designed for such soft pipe, even plastic plumbing pipes sometime have metal inserts that go in the end to ensure the pipe is ridgid enough to maintain a good seal on the o-ring inside.
There may also be a gasket or o-ring seal on the solenoid valve that could leak and blow air very close to that fitting.

I thought the push fitting would be the culprit when I opened it up and saw it but after spraying it, it's definitely coming from the threaded end. It seems to be an issue with the rohr machine which I think is the same as blackline.
can you unscrew it and post a picture of the threaded part of the fitting and of where it screws into?

Just had another go at it with the tape there, put on about 14 wraps and it seems to of worked.

Thanks for the help everyone.I tried more tape, more than felt right and put it back together... No leaks so far, so fingers crossed it's sorted.
From the images, the valve body deosn't have any obvious sealing surface for a washer, either at the bottom of the threaded hole, or round the top of the hole, although the push-fit part that screws into it looks as if it might be designed to screw down onto a washer at the bottom of a threaded hole. If lots of PTFE tape is sufficient to fill the gaps in the thread, then it should be good. An alternative might be to use a Loctite thread sealant (not to be confused with thread lock). Something like Loctite 545, or 535.

Is there any difference between gas PTFE tap and normal water plumbing PTFE tape? They look identical, to the naked eye. Is it OK to use water PTFE for gas, or vice versa? Mikewww.diynot.com
