Gas cooker connectors?

We recently got a new(er) gas cooker which has a different bayonet connector to the old (ancient) one.

Can anyone identify the 2 types please?, so when I phone our local gasman I can tell him I have a xxxx type fitting which needs replacing with a yyyy type fitting so hopefully he will bring the correct parts with him, cheers.

I think the old style is just known as a bayonet fitting. The new one style is a Micropoint.

Yes, I just wanted to tell him the different types so hopefully he will have the parts for getting it done in one visit

Your gas engineer will know what you mean. I would replace the complete flex they not expensive. It should be pointing down anyway as it is kinder on the flex.

They just have a 1/2" male bsp thread on the other end.

Will be fine then, they are useful as the pipe fitting is smaller so can push a cooker further back

I meant as in buying the qualification I need to install the cooker I may have messed about with gas installations as a teenager, but I'm older and wiser now.

Reminds me I need to call in to BES to get some stuff for my stationary engines.

First is standard bayonet, second is micropoint bayonet. The connection point needs to be in a position and orientation that complies with the instructions with the cooker.

I'll have to look for some instructions as the cooker is about a year old and the seller didn't have them.
