Thanks - yea, that would do. I guess I could get away with a relatively short section and then clamp normal thin-walled flue pipe to that. Although the tube seems cheaper per length than proper flue, so maybe I'll have a longer bit of tube.
I bought it from my local steel supplier. I got them to cut it into lengths i could fit in the van. cost about £30 i think for 3 ~2M lengths. Can't remember the size of tube, think it's 4mm wall. What did you use for the flue, and where did you buy or find it? I'm having trouble finding anything suitable, i.e. about 4" across with enough wall thicknes to be able to weld it. I've been a scrap dealer but the best I got was some paper-thin 4" stuff which I can't weld properly, or some sturdy downpipe but at 70mm it's too narrow bore, really.
Any ideas?
What's happens if the flue is bigger than it should be?There is no fixed law or rule that you have to have a round flue as long as it suits the size of the burners output theres nothing wrong with a square or rectangle shaped one![]()
u wouldnt get as much heat drawWhat's happens if the flue is bigger than it should be?

You make those to match....Thanks - that's quite cheap, on ebay it's about £15 per metre. I located a steel supplier close to where I live so I'll check it out tomorrow.
Surely the trouble then is attaching it to proper bits of flue to take it through walls/ceilings and such?

I was making my own 90 degree bends and selling them for a tenner then saw they cost 60 quid and I was wondering why they always liked the price. LolIs that the done thing around here, rather than buying flue/liners and adaptors, going-through-wall stuff and all the modular bits? I should look into that, so long as it will be cheaper for the materials. Seems so far that the flue is going to make up 98% of the project cost.

I used a 12 inch band saw to cut 45 degree angles on the pipe and welded them. You can do 22.5 if you like. Were these plain 90 degree pieces or somehow modular? For ease of assembly in the stove's final position, how might one make the various pieces fit together, or would it have to be welded?
only smokes at the start for 4-5 mins then fully smokeless on most rocket burners
all mine are only 3mm thickness for any part of exit for the flue as your not hitting high temps at that area with rocket burners or the ones i have on display

Is that building with that cement like stuff??
But confused with the part above.
I just need something simple that will burn little amounts of wood BUT most importantly does not give off smoke.

What's a spigot. ....If you weld a spigot onto the stove, you will be ok with a stainless flue with around 18swg walls. This is what is normally supplied for wood burning stoves. Mine has lasted 15 years, and has been our heating source for all that time.
