What does a baffle plate do? The simplest way to describe a baffle plate, which is placed at the top of the fire chamber, is a deflector shield which reflects heat back into the combustion chamber. This ensures that as much heat as possible is retained in the stove and emitted into the room in a controlled manner.
it should be as wide as the stove but allow 2" of flow across the top of it less if your further back from the front but should cover 3/4 of the stove top
So j had a nice burn up in it last night and noticed 2 things it needs a door jaysus does it spit at you and the chimney is either to short and to slim or its because of the curve but the smoke doesn't vent properly mostly comes out the door aswell as the flames lol
