Gas all gone ?

Not sure if i have had a leak on the reg on the argoshield cylinder, forgot to turn it off at the valve and was pretty sure the pressure was still around 30 psi when i left it.

The guage is now showing 0 but there is still gas in there but the welds are very small and thin even though the power is at level 5 out of possible 12. Could the guage be faulty ?

Am i best just swapping for a new cylinder ? Just at about 13 months into argoshiled volkszone offer so a swap will be only £35.

take off the regulator and open the valve VERY slowly. If there is still plent of pressure it will be F****g loud. If it is quiet there is no gas. Could the reg be faulty?


Have you tried adjusting the reg? Do you have two dials. one for bottle and one after the reg?

for the one before the reg its 1 bar per volume. e.g. 25l bottle at 5 bar (~75psi) would be 125l left in the bottle. Obviously you aint gonna get the last volumes worth out.

Don;t you have a flow meter attached to your regulator to check the flow more accurately?

Yeh the flow meter is still showing ok, just the last 30 psi seems to have disappeared ?

I may take the reg out and make sure using the key to open the bottle.

I have the wescol 2 gauge regulator, the left gauge shows 0 for the pressure, but the right hand reg is showing fine and the flow is regulated via the flow meter off the right hand port and the flow meter still seems fine.

Maybe its just gettingto the dregs of the bottle so the pressure is fairly low?

Thought that might be the case Daz, i will swap the bottle in the next day or so.
