Hi ~I have a question .Gas 0.6,0.8,1.0mm,gasless 0.8.0.9.1.0 welding wire ,which kind welding wire you use most ?
Thank you friend ,it seem to 0.9mm gasless wire most suitable for DIY .have you try 0.8gasless ,which one you preferI don't do much welding, So I have 0.9mm gasless wire in my welder. Kept in a dry garage I have no problems
Thanks friend ,below 200A machine ,0.6,0.8 gas may use most0.6 and 0.8 gas at home, work is a different environment, more power, bigger welders , more speed, bigger wire.
The same except I don't work0.6 and 0.8 gas at home, work is a different environment, more power, bigger welders , more speed, bigger wire.
Thanks for sharing ,0.6,0.8 solid welding performance better than 0.9 gasless ?0.6 and 0.8 solid, but I have 0.9 gasless for when I run out of gas at the weekend.
Thanks for your sharing~0.8 with argon mix and 275A machine - does everything I've tried (non professional) from bodywork to structural.
I bought other liners and drivewheels with the expectation of needing to swap them for certain jobs but it turns out I'm lazy and 0.8 usually works just fine once you play with the settings.
Thank you for sharingFor light stuff, car body panels etc solid wire is much better especially if you are doing butt joints.
For 2 or 3mm up, decent gasless wire works very well.
Gasless gets a bad reputation because there are lots of crap wire about and the technique is slightly differient.
In the right situation it's a brilliant process.
There's are loads of threads on here on gas versus gasless, see one below for starters.
Hi.
I finally got around to unboxing my Clarke MIG106. So, it comes with a spool of wire for use with inert gas and also a spool of fluxed wire. Of course I'm going to go with the fluxed wire, since I have no gas and the kit comes without a regulator.
So, if I can buy wire with a flux, which apparently gives off the inert gas, why do I want gas? I'm guessing it works out less expensive or is "better" for a host of other reasons.
Secondly, what regulator would anyone recommend, and what size gas bottle? I'm told the little bottles don't last long at all and I'm prepared to pay a few quid...
