They do recommend there is water in the hose to make it easier to wind back on
Works for me.

Well it's just a thing I was taught when I was youngster helping me Dad doing things about the house and garden... rolling up ropes or electric cables or hoses to roll them up one loop over hand and one loop under hand ...it's hard to explain without seeing it ...have a look at this

I't great when you want to throw a rope over a branch or over a truck to tye down a load ... the rope comes off the coil with out tangles ...

Aye, a half twist as you make each turn in the coil.

Got ya: I was putting a twist in with fingers but this looks easier.

I’ve got a 30m hose from BnQ, Homebase, Texas one of these places anyway. It was meant to be kink free, yeah right. Look at it the wrong way and it kinks. The real is supposed to take 50m of hose, no it doesn’t, 30m is it and I wind it back on very carefully. Hoselock fittings are a ridiculous price, I got a packet of 8 hosetop fittings for the price of one hoselock fitting. A whole load of spare O rings came as well. The fittings fit very well onto the hose lock stuff I have, no leaks no popping off under pressure.

That method has been added to my list, I've been getting in a tangle for years.

Now another one, off topic sorry, how to tie your shoe laces so they don't come undone. After 60 years of tying them wrong, it has taken a while to change over, but my laces never come undone now.
